Neil Jenman receives a steady stream of letters from the spruikers' lawyers. The letters usually begin with the words, "We act for [name of spruiker]".

It is tempting to grab a felt pen and write the words "HOW COULD YOU?!" across the letters and send them back.

But no, Neil usually replies to the letters. Not all of them, most of them.

Neil Jenman is always willing to edit or remove comments if it can be shown that the comments are incorrect. In 99.999% of cases, however, the comments are correct.

The spruikers are incensed that their scams are publicly exposed. Many of them go to those lawyers whose only requirement for taking a client is the client's ability to pay, not the morals of the client. Shame on such lawyers. You disgrace all lawyers.

Neil Jenman often gives the following advice to the spruikers' lawyers: "Make sure you get paid in advance."

Occasionally (not very often) spruikers will make a physical threat against Neil Jenman or his family. These threats are almost always anonymous - which is typical of how cowards operate.

One spruiker - a vile creature from England - boasted to his staff that he was "going to destroy Neil Jenman and his family." This man did, at one stage, physically attack Neil. Fortunately, a security officer restrained the crazed spruiker before he could do much damage.

Although Neil was injured and later hospitalised, it was not as bad as it sounds. And, according to Neil, it was worth it. Even the Commissioner for Consumer Protection in WA (who kicked this spruiker out of Perth) agreed, saying that he, too, would be willing to cop a punch in the face if it meant he was protecting consumers.

Now, that's commitment to a cause.

For years, spruikers have been trying to dig up damaging dirt on Neil Jenman.

One of the country's most notorious spruikers hired a private detective who spent more than a year following Neil Jenman and digging into his background.

The result? Nothing. Or, as one journalist who read the private detective's lame report wrote, "No smoking gun". Another quipped that the report made Neil Jenman look "positively boring".

Yes, staying at home with one's family, not drinking, not smoking, not being a general sleaze and not mistreating one's wife and family is considered "boring".

One real estate agent, who upset Neil Jenman's wife, later turned out to have abused his own wife for many years. When Jenman retaliated and revealed this detail, the agent then took over from the spruiker and continued to pay the private detective. "Did Neil ever bash you?" the detective asked Neil's former wife. "No, never," she replied. "He was a good husband and a wonderful father."

Darn. Poor spruikers - just because so many of them rip-off consumers, mistreat their own families and generally behave unethically and illegally, they think most other people do the same. Not so.

The spruikers and the agents who have hired private detectives have all been so disappointed.

One private detective told them that if they wanted to stop Jenman, they should not look at his personal life, but, instead, try and cut off his funding in his business life.

That's true.

Every business or cause needs funding to survive. If Jenman's supporters could be persuaded to abandon him, then he would have no "fuel" to drive his consumer protection cause.

Hence the campaign to smear Neil Jenman with lies, rumours, half-truths and innuendoes.

Despite a massive smear campaign that has been going for at least five years, Jenman's critics have failed miserably in their attempt to silence him.

In fact, it seems that the critics have actually aided Jenman. Most members of the public realise that the people who are criticising him all have something in common, they are either anonymous or are involved in the property industry. Yes, they are spruikers.

It's obvious to anyone who does the most basic research that 99.9 per cent of Jenman's critics are those whose dodgy businesses are affected because of Jenman's campaigns to protect the public.

As can be seen in the SMEARS SECTION (click here), Jenman is willing to answer any smear.
